About Us

The Nova Scotia Mainland Division is one of twelve regional Divisions of The Navy League of Canada.

Mission

To promote an interest in and encourage debate regarding maritime affairs throughout Canada

To promote, organize, sponsor, support and encourage the education and training of youth through Cadet movements and other youth groups with a maritime orientation and to promote physical and mental fitness of those participating in the Cadet programmes.

To foster the safety and general welfare of Canadian sailors and their dependents.

Navy League Cadets

Youth aged 9 - 12

More than 3,000 cadets in 102 communities across Canada

Completely delivered, administered, staffed and funded by the Navy League


Royal Canadian Sea Cadets

Youth aged 12 - 18

More than 7,000 cadets in 237 communities across Canada

From 1923 to 1941, delivered, administered, staffed and funded by the Navy League

From 1941 to 1968, delivered administered, staffed and funded by the Navy League in partnership

with the Royal Canadian Navy

From 1968 delivered by the Department of National Defence in partnership with the Navy League
